Dr. Robert Eagleton, Physicist

Robert Eagleton currently holds the status of emeritus professor at California State Polytechnic University – Pomona where he served as a member of its physics faculty for 30 years. During his tenure there he was successful in acquiring numerous external grants, published many papers in refereed journals, developed several of its physics laboratories (optics, modern physics, senior labs.), and wrote their associated laboratory manuals. During his last ten years there he, in collaboration with one his colleagues, was very active in the research of anomalous thermal and nuclear effects in protonated and deuterated metal lattices (a.k.a. cold nuclear fusion http://www.lenr-canr.org/index.html). Since his retirement from Cal. Poly. – Pomona in 1998 he has continued to be professionally active by serving as a consultant for a start up R&D company located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to his employment at Cal. Poly. – Pomona he earned a B. S. in physics (1959) from Abilene Christian College (now Abilene Christian University) at which time he was also granted a National Defense Education Act Fellowship to pursue graduate studies in physics at Oklahoma State University – Stillwater. This led to his earning a MS and PhD both with an emphasis on experimental solid state physics. In 1959 he also received a commission as a line officer in the U. S. Navy and served on active duty for four years (1961 – 1965) as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School, Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, CA. He currently lives with his wife in the Southern California area. Their extended family consists of four children, their spouses, and eleven grandchildren.
