Purpose

American Institute for Technology and Science Education is a national educational nonprofit organization working on behalf of all Americans to reinvigorate both academia and the scientific enterprise with a new sense of responsibility for ensuring that the values like integrity and the freedom to discuss and explore issues are not being compromised.   Removing avenues of exploration in science causes us to be sitting ducks for those who would pretend that only certain consensus views point us in the right direction. The absence of academic integrity can be a significant source in the creation of dishonest students, who may become dishonest scientists, physicians and engineers. Our goal with AITSE is to help reverse this trend by improving science education and increasing scientific integrity at all levels: elementary and high school, college, and industry. Freedom cannot exist in the absence of choice and choice requires allowing people to explore their options—and being informed about what they are. That means educators must be free to teach and scientists must be free to question.
